So, a fresh side blog on Pckt? Bet.

Admit you, you probably see this coming when Brookie of pckt.blog just shipped Notes in limited public beta and signed up anyways. (If you really want to try the beta, just reply in the Bluesky thread for the request access flow.) Anyways, here's my first Pckt miniblog post note for context along the lines of "I Wouldn’t Tell Anyone I Won The Lottery, But There Will Be Signs":

(actually my first ever Pckt note is me replying to Brookie's rant about using AI slop on blog post thumbnails / cover photos about adding an optional field to disclose AI use in the Standard.site publication and document specs (technically the Atmosphere dev community call these JSON schemas as lexicons but we're borrowing Fediverse Improvement Proposals / Matrix spec language here) but anyways)

While I'll be keep my main (Atmospheric) blog over at Leaflet because of one two things I love using it (the obvious: open-source codebase under MIT license and free custom domains for your infinity number of publications unlike both Pckt and Offprint need to upgrade to their paid subscription plans like your good ol' Medium membership subscription or Substack's USD 50/publication one-time custom domain setup fee), this side blog here on Pckt (pronounced like "pocket", similar with Mozilla 's Pocket app which is RIP anyways since 2025) is more akin to Obsidian's daily/weekly notes and then some rather than being filed as a looseleaf in Leaflet (but who knows where to file them in the future).

So that's it for now and if you enjoy reading through my musings and scribblings in the interwebs as an Autistic Filipino trying to survive the living eldritch horrors of being disabled in the Filipino society as a open-source developer and Linux enthusiast, you do you: GitHub Sponsors, Liberapay, PayPal, Wise, or see more options at sponsors.andreijiroh.dev

ps: I know I can't afford paying the premium plans (preferably the yearly one) for all of the Big 3 publishing platforms (tl;dr: Leaflet, pckt.blog and Offprint) or at least the first two in the Atmosphere mainly because of being a broke student (god forbid someone will send me pipebombs in the DMs asking to "get a j*b while at school" without understanding my own risks in autistic burnout and other mental health risks) and the Philippine peso (not to be confused with the PHP programming language) is depressingly deprecating against the US dollar, but there will be signs if I have to pay on monthly basis on and off (aka pay for a month and cancel the subscription immediately afterwards) kinda like paying only one month for binge watching TBA Studios' Bayaniverse film series on Amazon Prime Video without committing to long-term subscription.

Editor's note: Regarding gen AI use, this entire thing is written by hand with Gemini on the side for a quick review before hitting publish (link to full transcript if you dare). I didn't let Gemini cook this thing other than being autistic in writing means catching strays in AI detector apps.
